Customer Profile
The Maricopa County Wireless Services Group manages approx. 10,000 assets for the different county departments. They also maintain the communications infrastructure for the county and provide maintenance and communications services for other cities and counties.
Challenge
WSG did not have a true work order management software solution with billing capabilities. They were using a help desk solution used by the county that was less than adequate for their needs. They had spreadsheets for tracking their communications assets. Billing processes were manual and time consuming.
Solution
MCM provided them a single system solution that included: complete work order management and billing, asset tracking, recurring charges billing for maintenance agreements, and greater inventory control.
Result
The MCM system greatly reduced the time spent on monthly billing processes. All technicians are using the system and have immediate access to asset information and work order history, which improved productivity. Recurring billing for maintenance contracts was automated. Exports were developed using the report writer that allowed administrators downtown to export monthly billing reports directly from the system in real time, eliminating the need for another person to export and manipulate the data before they got it. The technical service manager was now able to generate reports and exports of data for work order turn around reports and asset listings by agency. MCM also implemented the PDA Rapid Inventory application for them and gave them the ability to bar code their parts inventory and drastically reduce physical inventory times.
